Frequently asked questions

Everything ISP operators ask about billing, RADIUS, Mikrotik automation, security, and onboarding. Search or filter to jump straight to your question.

General

ISP billing software is a platform that automates subscriber management, invoicing, and network access control for internet service providers. A complete solution handles PPPoE and RADIUS authentication, automatically suspends and reactivates subscribers based on payment status, generates invoices, accepts local payments such as bKash or JazzCash, and gives operators a real-time view of who is online and how much bandwidth they are consuming. iBilling combines billing, RADIUS, MikroTik automation, OLT management, and a customer portal into one platform built specifically for ISPs in Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, and Bhutan.

iBilling is an all-in-one operating system for ISPs — billing, RADIUS, Mikrotik automation, IPAM, and a customer portal in a single workspace, purpose-built for WISPs, fiber operators, and resellers.

WISPs, fiber ISPs, broadband resellers, and enterprise network operators with anywhere from 100 to 100,000+ subscribers. We're optimized for South Asia but used across 12 countries.

A typical patchwork — WHMCS/Splynx for billing, RADIUS for AAA, Winbox for Mikrotik, a spreadsheet for IPAM, and WhatsApp for support — all consolidated into one platform with a single customer record.

Yes — a 14-day full-feature trial. No credit card required. Migration and onboarding help are included.

Billing & Pricing

Plans are per active subscriber per month, billed monthly or annually. Annual plans save ~20%. See the pricing page for current tiers.

bKash, Nagad, Rocket (BD), Easypaisa, JazzCash (PK), UPI, Razorpay (IN), eSewa, Khalti (NP) — plus Stripe and PayPal globally. Auto-reconciliation against open invoices is built in.

Yes — VAT, GST, and per-region tax rules are configurable. Invoices include your branding, multi-currency, and prorations.

Annual plans are eligible for a prorated refund within 30 days. Monthly plans are non-refundable but can be cancelled anytime. See our Refund Policy for full details.

No. Cancel anytime, monthly or annual. We earn your business every month.

RADIUS & Mikrotik

PPPoE (Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet) is the authentication method most South Asian ISPs use for broadband subscribers. When a subscriber's router dials a PPPoE session, MikroTik or another NAS checks credentials against RADIUS. iBilling manages the full PPPoE billing lifecycle: it writes subscriber credentials and rate-limit profiles to RADIUS, tracks sessions via RADIUS accounting, and sends a CoA (Change of Authorization) disconnect the moment an account expires. No Winbox or manual intervention required.

FUP enforcement runs automatically on an hourly schedule. iBilling tracks each subscriber's data consumption from RADIUS accounting records. When usage crosses the FUP threshold in their package, iBilling applies one of three configurable actions: throttle (reduce MikroTik rate limit to a FUP speed), disconnect (terminate session until reset), or notify (send a WhatsApp or SMS alert without changing service). FUP resets on your chosen cycle — daily, weekly, monthly, or at the end of the billing cycle — with no manual intervention.

Yes — we speak RADIUS natively (auth + accounting) and handle PPPoE, Hotspot, IPoE, and DHCP option-82 setups out of the box.

We use the Mikrotik API for queue management, address-lists, PPPoE secrets, hotspot users, and firewall rules. Queue templates can be applied across hundreds of routers with one click.

RouterOS 6.49+ and the full RouterOS 7.x line, including v7.15. We continuously test against new releases.

Yes — any standards-compliant RADIUS NAS works (Cisco, Huawei, Juniper, MPD5, accel-ppp). Vendor-specific automation is currently strongest for Mikrotik.

Subnet planning, per-customer IP allocation, conflict detection, and free-pool reporting are built in. IPs link directly to subscribers and routers for one-click traceability.

Platform & Features

Yes. iBilling supports a full hierarchy: Admin → Dealer → Sub-Dealer → Customer. Each dealer has their own wallet, commission structure, and scoped customer list. When a dealer activates or renews a customer, the system calculates and credits commission in real time. Role-based access control ensures each level sees only their own customers — the model used by most ISP resellers in Bangladesh and Pakistan.

Both. The cloud plan runs on iBilling's infrastructure — no server setup, automatic updates, 99.99% uptime SLA. The on-premise (self-hosted) plan gives you the complete stack — FreeRADIUS, RADIUS HA, Postgres — to install on your own VPS. On-premise plans are popular with larger ISPs in Bangladesh and Pakistan who need subscriber data on local servers or want full server-level control.

Yes — every plan includes a white-labeled portal where subscribers can view invoices, pay online, raise tickets, and see usage. Mobile-first and translatable.

Yes — upload your logo, set brand colors, and portal + email templates update automatically. Custom domain supported on higher tiers.

Yes — a full REST API (v2) with documentation, webhooks for events, and SDKs for Node and Python. v1 is deprecated; migration guide included.

English, Bengali, Hindi, Urdu, Tamil, Nepali, Sinhala, Dhivehi, Burmese, Khmer, and Thai. More on request.

Yes — multi-tenant resellers can manage many ISPs from one login with revenue share, per-tenant branding, and per-tenant SLAs.

Security & Data

TLS 1.3 in transit, AES-256 at rest, role-based access control with 2FA (TOTP or WebAuthn), audit logs streamable to S3/R2, and daily encrypted backups across regions.

Tier-1 cloud regions selected per customer (commonly Singapore, Mumbai, or Frankfurt). Customer-isolated databases are available on enterprise plans.

SOC 2 Type II audit is in progress. We are GDPR-ready with DPA, SCCs, and DPO contact available on request.

You do. iBilling acts as a data processor. On account closure you have 30 days to export everything; after that, data is purged from active systems and backups within 90 days.

Support & Onboarding

Most ISPs are live within 5–7 days. We import your customer list, map routers, and run a parallel billing cycle before cutover.

Yes — for any plan. We have importers for WHMCS, Splynx, Radius Manager, and CSV. Custom migrations are scoped on request.

In-app chat, email, and WhatsApp for all plans. Phone and 24/7 on-call are included on Business and Enterprise tiers.

Yes — every onboarding includes live training sessions plus access to our video library and docs. Custom team workshops available.

Use in-app chat, email support, or our public roadmap board. Critical bugs are triaged within 1 business hour.
